Eros Cresciente is the scarf of Medusa and her sigils. Artist Dolorosa de la Cruz reinvigorates the Medusa story recreating an electrifying force that connects to the sacred and divine. A story that is above all of abuses, of those demonized and killed in various forms. In this work she reclaims and invokes Medusa as the female Eros, liberator of body and mind. No longer sacrificed in anger and violence by those who fear womans’ power, knowledge and sexuality. This Medusa refuses mastery and unites with cosmic forces that travel through history remaining alive and in flux as imaginary and revolutionary potential in space and time.
